Maize is a vital crop of West Garo Hills, making it essential to promote scientific cultivation techniques to improve farm productivity and profitability. In line with this objective, ICAR KVK West Garo Hills organized a training program at Haripur in the plain belt area. During the session, Ms. Priyanka Saha, Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy), introduced the farmers to the latest innovations and techniques in maize cultivation. This was followed by a lecture from Mr. Ramawatar Yadav, Subject Matter Specialist (Vegetable Science), who provided insights into the scientific cultivation of broccoli. The program, attended by 26 farmers, concluded with the distribution of maize, broccoli, cabbage, and brinjal seeds. The farmers displayed great enthusiasm and interest, offering positive feedback and showing strong interest in adopting the new methods.
